海亀を模したオブジェ。世界全体で毎年約800万トンのプラスチックごみが流出し海洋汚染が問題になっております。
この海亀のオブジェに使用した素材は、オーミケンシ株式会社が新開発したプラスチックのような撥油性機能を備え食品容器や梱包資材に使用する事ができ、海中で分解することもできる地球環境に優しいセルロース100％の紙素材「MAGNATURE®」。

おとぎ話「浦島太郎」は目先のことばかり考えて悲しい結末を迎えました。皆様が海洋汚染について考えるきっかけとなれば幸いです。

(Summary)
These objects imitate sea turtles. Every year, a total of 8 million tons of plastic waste is causing marine pollution worldwide. The displayed turtles are made from paper material ‘MAGNATURE®‘ developed by Omikenshi Co.,Ltd. which is 100% cellulose. This material is nature-friendly and can decompose under the sea. It is oil repellent and has a similar function to plastic which can be used for food containers and packing materials.
The name ‘Plas-shima Taro’ comes from ‘plastic’ and ‘Urashima Taro’ which is a title of a Japanese folktale. This folktale is about a young fisherman named Urashima Taro. He saved a tortoise that was being tortured by human beings, and the tortoise took him to a beautiful castle in the ocean. When he decided to return to the land, he was given a treasure box which he had promised never to open. But, because he could not overcome his desire, he turned into an old man once he opened the box. These objects were made with hope to give an opportunity to rethink about marine pollution.
